ABOUT
Mindfulness facilitator and degree-qualified naturopath, Alex Newte Hardie, was the resident graduate naturopath at the University of Westminster from 2011 to 2013, before she joined the Light Centre in 2013.

During her early years in clinical practice, Alex found that stress, anxiety, self-criticism, shame and other emotions/states to be the root cause, or primary aggravator of her own and her patients’ health conditions. She recognised that these habitual patterns directly caused physiological changes and drive behavioural patterns that diminish the health of the individual.

These experiences led Alex to study mindfulness meditation and she completed her Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy teacher training at the start of 2013, and Mindful Self-Compassion training in 2016. She has been teaching courses at the centre (and around London) ever since.

Other therapies integrated into her teaching and clinics include Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) , and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). In addition, Alex is the General Health Practitioner at the Belgravia branch alongside her clinical and teaching commitments.

Alex is registered with the General Council and Register of Naturopaths, the Association of Psychological Therapies, the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council & studied with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion and Enter Mindfulness.
